Okay, okay, this time I've been so horribly remiss in posting that I can't even apologize. How many times can I abuse you poor LINTERS and then try to offer you flowers? (Metaphorically speaking, of course. I don't actually HAVE any flowers for any of you.)
That said, I got too obsessed with the above Korres Lip Butter Glaze not to spread the good word. First of all, who the heck ever heard of a "Jasmine" flavored lip glaze? Yes, please! (It does come in other tints/scents, but why would you want that?)
Second, two words: LIP BUTTER. I mean, you know how I feel about body butter, people, and lipgloss. Just think of the the level of euphoria! It goes on like silk, it STAYS on like heaven and it smells divine. AND — in these po' ass times — it only costs $14, so you can buy it without guilt.
Which is good. Because with guilt comes flowers. And that's just an added expense.
Since I'm a HUGE Vince fan and I recommended the Natalie bathing suit from Anthropologie and it was (gasp!) all sold out (boo hissssss!), I needed to tell you guys about this HUGE Vince summer sale for BOYS and GIRLS that's happening.
It's crazy! You can get this leather jacket for $300-ish instead of $800-ish:
Okay, I'm truly sorry not to be posting a Bachelorette recap today, but I'm off on a trip – first to San Diego and then to Vancouver and Victoria – and will be watching it late.
I'll report back on all that when I return, BUT, in the meantime, I thought I at least owed you some kind of nugget. Above, behold the Natalie One-Piece from Anthropologie, which I KID YOU NOT is the best fitting, most flattering bathing suit that I have ever encountered in my entire life.
It comes in multiple colors (I have the polkadots!) and it's all old Hollywood and stuff, but best of all, it seems to be on sale right now. I feel like I should buy 10 to wear over the next decade. That's how good this thing looks on.
I'm sure you'll get on swimmingly! (Couldn't resist.)
Okay, I know I already covered Hominy Grill in Charleston awhile back, but I JUST uploaded all my photos and frankly I couldn't help but share this one.
I mean, how awesome does this look? This is like a sampler platter of all things southern (with miraculously nothing fried), but it was the pink pickled eggs that caught my fancy (not surprisingly). They taste as good as they look.
Kind of like … no, I won't go that route.
A.MAZ.ING. I need to get back there STAT. Calgon, you know what to do …
Drewser and I have been making our way from beach town to beach town in the last week, starting at an amazing ocean and pool side house, where we hung with amazingly fun peeps, on the Isle of Palms in South Carolina, just minutes from Charleston.
Then, we headed to the beachfront Sanderling in North Carolina's Outer Banks. Next up, a quick stop in Williamsburg. (At least, we THINK we'll stop there, it's a game time decision and the hours are ticking away.)
Finally, we'll descend upon Bethany Beach Delaware, where it's all about the boardwalk games, beach time and photo booths (if Andre will so indulge me).
BUT our favorite food experience thus far (aside from the chef cooked clam bake in SC) was at sweet little Hominy Grill in Charleston. Andrew ordered the above "Small Plate" (yup) fried chicken, biscuits and gravy called "The Big Nasty." But we also sampled smoked ham, pickled okra and eggs, fried cheese grits, a catfish sandwich, shrimp and grits and some VERY pleasing red velvet cake.
And now I have to stop writing. Why? Because I could be reading on the beach. Sorry LINTERS. But the surf calls.
It's that time of year, folks. Time to throw on the sun-bleached Forever 21 sundresses and worn in flip-flops, put down the Blackberry and let the hair run wild (well, less wild in my case, since I just got a Global Keratin hair taming treatment at Sally Hershberger).
And, okay, let's be honest: I'm bringing both my Blackberry and laptop and will be checking them aaaalllll the damn time. But maybe I'll be just a little less glued?
Anyway, it's time for my annual end of summer/Labor Day trip to the east coast, which generally involves fried pickles and a lot of blue crab with Old Bay seasoning. But this year, Andre & I are also headed to South Carolina and North Carolina, so hopefully there will be lots more LINT to collect!
In the meantime, my posts may be a bit sporadic. Forgive me. Sometimes even I need a little un-work related vacay!
