HAWAII (AND BEYOND): SHAMELESS SELF-PROMOTION [T + L’s Affordable Beach Resorts]

By Nora Zelevansky / February 14th, 2011

201102-b-beach-paia-1

Well, I can't say this is the longest clip I've ever posted, BUT it is Monday after The Grammy Awards, so let's just start small.

Bleh.  Now that I made that reference to Grammys as if I like went wilding all last night, doing body shots off Lady Gaga, let me just clarify: I don't even watch The Grammys.  The only shots I did today were "wellness" related and from Earth Bar.

Eh.  Even that's a lie cause I had one of their Amazon Immunity smoothies that I love instead.  (SO GOOD).

Anyway, now that I'm done with true confessions, here's a link to Travel + Leisure's annual story about the "Best Affordable Beach Resorts," which I've found is a great resource when planning trips.  I only wrote one of the mini-blurbs on a property in Maui called Paia Inn, but the whole shabang is worth reading.

After you peruse the "Best & Worst Dressed" from The Grammy's, of course.  Cause that I actually do partake in.

Gotta love leather and grommets.

LA (AND BEYOND): HIGH-END TRAVEL PRODUCTS FOR SALE

By Nora Zelevansky / October 24th, 2010

Tuppence, tuppence, tuppppence for saaaaale!

Sorry.  Just having an Oliver Twist moment.

Apropos of nothing, did you all see The Social Network?  I was late on that and only saw it Sunday afternoon and now I've decided I'm going to invent something and become a multi-billionare.  First I just have to transform into a genius and motivate myself beyond the latest episode of "The Good Wife."

Just you wait, Henry Higgins!  Just you wait!

Seriously, what am I talking about?  It's only Monday morning and I've already lost my mind completely.

Ahem.  Now down to serious business.  I wrote about 3floz.com a while back for T + L, but I wanted to re-mention now, as they're having this 30%-off sale on all their awesome high-end (yet packable sized) beauty products.

Just use the coupon code above, all you jet setters.

Meanwhile, I'll be busy sharpening my brain.  Watch out, Zuckerberg, here I come.  I knew guys like you at Harvey Mudd.  They rode around on unicycles.  I'm not afraid!  (Well, I'm a little afraid of the unicycles themselves, but you know what I mean.)

INDIA (AND BEYOND): SHAMELESS SELF-PROMOTION [VIVANTA in T + L]

By Nora Zelevansky / September 20th, 2010

Happy Monday!  Don't you wish you were in the above instead of at your desk?

Eh.  It's kind of a far flight away.  (Does that make you feel any better about being at your desk instead of in the pool?  I'm trying!)

ANYWAY, you can read all about the above on Travel + Leisure today in a post by yours truly: Upper upscale hotel brand Taj has launched a new brand called "Vivanta" for the younger, cool kid set.  Extra, extra.  Read all about it.

Meanwhile, I'll be busy distracting myself by watching DVD after DVD of Freaks & Geeks for the first time ever.  It's like I've discovered the TV holy grail.  Seriously.  I may not leave the couch for like four days.

Danka, Mr. Apatow!  Je t'aime!  Then it's back to the desk …

So, I've decided to take time out of my busy beach lolling schedule to actually write a post.

What?  There may be a hurricane coming.  I need to take what sun and Atlantic Ocean swimming I can get, mofos.

ANYWAY … Travel + Leisure posted my story about the bestest Top Chef restaurants today, so thought you all might like to check it out.

Tune in next week, when I'm back in black.  (That means in LA and writing the blog again, if you didn't understand.)

PALM SPRINGS/VA/MT/VT: THE BEST ARTISANAL RESORT PRODUCTS AND THE BEST WAY TO SAY ADIEU TO A YEAR WELL DONE

By Nora Zelevansky / December 18th, 2009

I know.  I know.  I keep apologizing and then being bad again, but I'm off on yet another jaunt and will not be LINTing Christmas week.  Actually, that's sort of not true.  I'll be LINTing in the sense that I'll be scouting new finds to share (though I still owe some Pittsburgh and NYC stuff), but I won't be posting regularly until January 2, 2010.

Anyway, I thought I'd leave you with a link to my latest little story in Travel & Leisure (see above) about resorts that farm or crush and create their own beauty and food products.  Short and sweet, just like me and my attention span.  And my patience.  And my fuse.  And my family.  And the time it takes me to devour french fries.  And the time it takes me to read a trashy detective novel.  And the time that will pass between now and my next post in 2010.

So, happy holidays of all kinds, folks.  Good tidings to all and HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!!  (I know I already have my sequined number picked out).  Well, I mean one only has so many sequin dresses from which to choose, right?

Love ya.  Mean it.
