LA (K-TOWN): THE BEST FRIED CHICKEN YOU’VE NEVER TASTED (OR YOU’D BE EATING IT AGAIN RIGHT NOW)

I'm not going to lie.  This is hard for me to write.  I'm not emotional or anything (ahem), but this picture is making me so hungry that I literally want to eat the screen.

You'd be surprised how hard it is to type with part of a laptop computer in your mouth.

Seriously, though, a while ago for research for an upcoming story, Andre Vien and I headed to LA's K-Town to try the increasingly famous Kyochon Chicken spot.  First of all, I should admit that I experienced a little trepidation: Though I love few things more than fried chicken, I can sometimes get freaked out by gristly darker meat at more meat fearless places.

So, the first happy fact I learned is that you can totally order white meat wings here (if you're a wimp like me) and you can order as few as two wings.  Fortunately, I'd been given the warning that the spicy wings were SERIOUSLY spicy, so we ordered only a few of those and then a bunch of the Soy Garlic specialties.

Suffice it to say that we had to order even MORE of the original (see above).  The "Hot & Sweet" spicy ones are delicious, but you do only need a few, unless you have serious spicy food chops.  (That's all you, T!).

Overall, these are some of the best chicken wings (um, double-fried, but billed as healthy because of the type of oil used) I have ever eaten in my life.  And I can't stop thinking about them.  Get pickled radish on the side and then call it a day though because the other stuff is just, eh, by comparison.

For whatever reason, they list the 6th Street K-Town location as in "Serrano," but make no mistake: it's here in L.A.  There are also now locations in NYC too (and about a BILLION in Korea).

What can I say?  Lucky Korea?  Now, lucky us.  Finger licking good.  For real.
