LA (THIRD STREET): THE BEST TRENCH ETC. TO COVET AND SEE IN MY DREAMS

By Nora Zelevansky / August 16th, 2010

This weekend was a Third Street black party, which basically just means that the boutiques offer better discounts and some free cookies and Perrier.  M., R. & I wandered around for hours, after brunch at Doughboys, and I had some mini lover affairs at each spot.

First, we wandered into Satine and happened upon the MOST beautiful Obakki trench for fall.  It's actually different than the above, which is also Obakki and does happen to be beautiful too!

Then, at the Sigerson Morrison sale, I fell in love with the below suede sandals (which are much cuter in person).

Then, at cool kid home store, Plastica, I pondered some woven colorful laundry baskets and some blank shower curtains that you can draw on (hmmm).

Then, we stopped into new kid's store EGGY for a baby gift and FREAKED OUT over how cute the clothes were.  They were like little grown up clothes!

Anyway, that's just a taste of what's up on Third.  Now, I need to go try to shut myself in my house, so I don't go buy it all.

But what is there to do in this place besides watch Entourage?  On second thought, LET ME OUT!

LA (THIRD STREET): THE BEST MATE FOR UGG FLIP-FLOPS

By Nora Zelevansky / December 14th, 2009

Is it just me or should these Erin Wasson shorts be set-up on a date with those furry Ugg flip-flops that I featured a while back?  These remind me of a slutty Santa or elf costume, but like for a goth chick or something.  If Pam Anderson was into The Cure, she would totally rock these mofos during the holidays.

I spotted them on Thursday night at Satine's new Third Street location.  They were upstairs on sale floor (because, yes, now the previously tiny shop has an entire second story as well as TONS of open space).  The store is amazing and holiday cheer did abound all up and down the boutique row until late into the evening.

A goth holiday to all and to all a good night.

LA (THIRD STREET): THE BEST 40%-OFF SALE ROOM

By Nora Zelevansky / May 6th, 2009

This weekend's Third Street Sidewalk Sale may have appeared a bit lackluster (sans the usual block party's free gelato and tacos and some of the now defunct former shops), but most of the stores were in fact offering at least 10%-off goods.  Strolling down the strip, in and out of fave shops from Modern Sage to Hillary Rush, I landed at Satine.  Now, most of the time I peruse Satine with caution, knowing that most of the pieces (shoes, bags, dresses, what-have-you) are sadly out of my range, no matter how passionate the love affair.

But the boutique's backroom (offering 40%-off) is stocked to the brim with amazing finds right now.  I personally snagged the above buffalo-checked Trovata jacket for a fraction of the original price (and you know you can always use a light weight jacket in LA).

Maybe it's the economy (no one is shopping, so good stuff is leftover) or just dumb luck, but Satine's back room is currently worth a drive by.

Proceed without caution.

P.S. Even their website is offering a "Dirty 30 Percent Off Sale."  Now, if only I could find a way to grab those See By Chloe platforms . . . not quite on sale.  Pretty please?
